Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number to use the App (except if you contact us for support).

a. Anonymous identifier. On first launch the App creates an anonymous identifier (an anonymous Firebase user ID and an app-install identifier). This lets us deliver in-app features, attribute licensed music usage, and prevent abuse, without identifying you personally.

b. Subscription and purchase information. When you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple. We and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) receive your subscription status, transaction identifiers, and purchase history so we can unlock paid features and restore purchases. We never receive or store your payment card details — those are handled by Apple.

c. Your content. Videos, photos, audio, text, and projects you import into or create with the App ("Your Content"). Most processing is performed on your device. For certain features, limited content is sent to third-party processors as described in Section 2(c) and Section 3.

d. Device and diagnostic information. Device model, operating system version, app version, language/region, general performance data, and crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics, in production builds). This helps us fix bugs and keep the App stable.

e. Usage and analytics information. Aggregated, non-identifying information about how features are used (for example, music browser interactions and feature usage counts) via Firebase Analytics. We use this to improve the App.

f. Music licensing usage data. When you add a licensed track to a project or export a project containing licensed tracks, we record the anonymous user identifier, your subscription tier, the track identifiers, a project identifier, timestamps, and — where available — the channel or video URL where the production is published. We are contractually required to provide this to our music licensor (Epidemic Sound) for licensing and reporting.

g. Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we receive a push token (via Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver notifications.

h. Network information. Like any internet service, our servers and our third-party processors receive your IP address and standard request metadata when the App makes network requests.

i. Advertising and attribution identifiers. To measure which marketing campaigns lead people to install or subscribe, we and our advertising partners process attribution identifiers. These include a Meta (Facebook) SDK anonymous identifier and your device's vendor identifier (IDFV), and — only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt — the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA). We also use Apple's AdServices attribution token to measure Apple Search Ads. If you do not grant tracking permission, attribution relies on Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork instead and the IDFA is not used.

2. Device Permissions

The App requests the following permissions only when needed for a feature, and you can change them at any time in your device Settings:

• Camera — to record reaction videos as picture-in-picture overlays.
• Microphone — to record voice-overs, capture audio for reaction videos, and power voice input.
• Photo Library — to import media you choose to edit, and to save exported videos to your library.
• Speech Recognition — to transcribe audio and for voice dictation in smart editing. Transcription is performed on your device or via Apple's speech recognition.
• Tracking (App Tracking Transparency) — if you allow it, we use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to measure and attribute our advertising campaigns. You can decline this prompt, and you can change your choice anytime in your device Settings.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features;
• process subscriptions and unlock or restore paid features;
• power AI and automated-editing features (see Section 4);
• deliver the music, sound effects, stickers, and media-import features;
• meet our music-licensing and reporting obligations;
• send notifications you have enabled;
• measure and attribute the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising campaigns (for example, which ad led to an install or subscription);
• diagnose crashes, debug issues, and improve performance and features; and
• protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and comply with law.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we show no third-party ads inside the App. To measure advertising performance, we share limited identifiers with Meta (directly and through RevenueCat) for ad attribution. Some privacy laws treat this kind of "sharing" for cross-context advertising as subject to opt-out, which you can exercise by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt or turning off tracking in your device Settings.

4. Artificial Intelligence Features

Some features use AI. When you use them, the relevant input — such as a text prompt you type, or a transcript or limited media derived from Your Content — is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the requested result. This data is processed to provide the feature and is not used by us to identify you. On-device speech-to-text and text-to-speech are processed locally where supported.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App, and only as needed:

• Apple — App Store purchases, subscriptions, and push notification delivery.
• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — anonymous authentication, app attestation (App Check), analytics, crash reporting, cloud messaging, remote configuration, and backend hosting (including our music proxy and usage-event storage).
• RevenueCat — subscription management and entitlement validation, and forwarding subscription events (such as trials and purchases) to Meta for advertising attribution.
• Meta Platforms (Facebook) — measuring and attributing app installs and subscription events to our advertising campaigns. The identifiers shared are described in Section 1(i), and the IDFA is shared only if you grant tracking permission.
• OpenAI — processing inputs for AI features (Section 4).
• Epidemic Sound — music and sound effects, and the music licensing usage data described in Section 1(f).
• GIPHY — providing and searching stickers and GIFs.
• Soundstripe — providing music, where applicable.
• YouTube and X (Twitter) — when you import media from a URL, the App retrieves that content at your request.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or us.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the App and for the purposes described in this Policy, including meeting our licensing, legal, accounting, and reporting obligations. Music licensing usage data is retained as required to fulfil our reporting obligations to our licensor. Crash and analytics data are retained according to our providers' standard retention periods. Your Content stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including app attestation, authenticated and rate-limited backend access, and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can:

• manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings;
• control notifications and the Camera, Microphone, Photo Library, and Speech Recognition permissions in your device Settings;
• opt out of advertising tracking by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or by turning off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in your device Settings; and
• contact us to exercise any applicable data-protection rights.

Because the App uses an anonymous identifier and does not require an account, we may need additional information to locate data associated with you, and in some cases we may be unable to do so.

11. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services that have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them, including Apple, Google (Firebase), RevenueCat, Meta (Facebook), OpenAI, Epidemic Sound, and GIPHY. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
